Hi there, I’m Gus. I was born and raised in Cochabamba, Bolivia, but I fell in love with photography while spending my high school senior year in a student exchange program in upstate New York. That was back in the 90s when we still used film and developed photos in a darkroom!
I like to capture memories to be remembered by the people who made them, and their future children and grandchildren too. I’m an emotional person, and I look around the room to capture the emotion I am sensing into my shots, like children joyously smiling at a wedding, or the proud and congratulatory atmosphere of a graduation.

While I have over 20 years of photography experience as an enthusiast, I have over 10 years of experience as a professional. My start was completely serendipitous. I was attending a wedding, and the photographer called the bride and informed her he was cancelling due to inclement weather. I told the bride, “Look, I’ve got my camera in my trunk. I normally shoot insects and nature, but I can try my best!”

I shot the wedding with my camera in my right hand, and an umbrella in my left, and I’ve been shooting events ever since. I like to climb, get wet, and get dirt on my clothes to get perfect shots. I don’t care about the time we have scheduled so much as I care about getting photos done properly. I’m always early, I scout locations before shoots, and I am pretty sure I deliver more photos than most other photographers. If I like a photo, I give it to clients no matter what minimum number we agreed on.

All in all, I love what I do, and I love working with new clients. Feel free to reach out with any questions – no pressure whatsoever.

Warmest Regards,

Gus Calero
